From our hotel in Montesson
The Yvelines is full of historical, cultural and natural treasures.

Montesson
We invite you to visit a peaceful town in the Ile de France, about 15 kilometres west of Paris. Since the Middle Ages, Montesson has developed on the right bank of the Seine, in a loop which also includes Chatou and Vésinet. On the opposite bank lies Saint Germain en Laye and its magnificent forest.
In the 18th century, the lord of Montesson developed the breeding of merino sheep and the cultivation of potatoes. The village then turned to the production of sugar beet and then to market gardening. It was in the second half of the 20th century that the town took off, with the addition of numerous suburban residences and apartment buildings.
Since then, Montesson has managed to preserve its charm and heritage: stroll through the Sunday market, the Loop Park, with its 20 hectares of ornithological treasures, or the Sophora Park, with its 4 hectares of formal and formal gardens offering walking paths, playgrounds and sports fields.
Saint-Germain-en-Laye
Only 25 minutes by RER A from Paris, discover Saint Germain en Laye and the forest of the same name.
When you arrive in Saint Germain en Laye, you can admire the castle, its Renaissance facade and its gothic-style Saint-Louis chapel. It was the birthplace and one of the favourite residences of Louis XIV.
It now houses the National Archaeology Museum, which traces the life of mankind in France from prehistory to the Middle Ages. With 29,000 objects, its collection of prehistoric art is the largest in the world.
Outside, the 2.5 km long terrace designed by the famous landscape gardener Le Nôtre is what Saint Germain en Laye is known for.
The town is also home to the Maurice Denis Museum with works by Gauguin, Bernard, Sérusier, Bonnard, etc., as well as the Maison-Musée Claude Debussy, which is housed in the same building as the Tourist Office.
In terms of nature, 3500 hectares of forest welcome visitors on foot, by bike and on horseback. The forest of Saint Germain en Laye is also on the new La Seine à Vélo itinerary, which will be accessible from October 2020 and will link Paris to Le Havre, Deauville or Honfleur.
